Enrichment & Extracurricular Activities
As part of Future Academies, our Sixth Form students benefit from a wide range of enrichment, extra-curricular and super-curricular opportunities designed to broaden horizons and support future aspirations.
The Future Scholars Programme provides dedicated support for high-achieving students applying to top-tier universities. This includes expert guidance on UCAS personal statements, preparation for entrance tests and interviews (including Oxbridge and Russell Group universities), and tailored support for students applying to study Medicine. The programme also offers unique experiences such as an exclusive afternoon tea event at the Houses of Parliament.
Students can also take part in our Future Speaker Series, which features inspirational talks and Q&A sessions with leading professionals from a range of industries.
We work in partnership with a number of respected organisations to provide mentoring, university preparation, and high-quality extra-curricular opportunities. These include Unifrog, Oppidan Education, The Brilliant Club, Future First, Pathways CTM, The Elephant Group, Speakers for Schools, and the Social Mobility Foundation.
In addition, students benefit from subject-specific opportunities that deepen their academic interests, such as Clinical Skills sessions for aspiring medics and Geography residential trips.
Work Experience and Careers Support
At The Grange Academy Sixth Form, students benefit from a structured and ambitious programme of work experience and careers support.
Students have access to exclusive work placements with high-profile organisations, secured through a competitive application and interview process. These experiences provide valuable insight into professional environments and expectations.
In addition, our Trust-wide work experience programme, launched each January, offers structured week-long placements during the summer term. Students apply through a formal process, gaining invaluable experience in writing applications and undertaking interviews.
Opportunities are tailored to students’ individual interests and span a wide range of sectors, including medicine, wealth management, law, veterinary practice, architecture and energy.
All students receive detailed written feedback on their applications and interviews, ensuring they can reflect, improve and confidently progress to their next steps.
