Watford students' receive A-level results - Watford Observer Article 18th August 2022
Watford students are preparing for university, apprenticeships and travelling as they receive their A-level results.
As they collected their results on Thursday, August 18, the Watford Observer the opportunity to find out their plans.
The 18-year-olds will be taking different paths, but all were proud of the work they carried out over the past two years.
The Grange Academy achieved a 99% pass rate.
Deputy head boy James Pound from Watford achieved an impressive three A* grades in maths, physics and art.
James said he is “excited” to be heading to the University of Manchester to study architecture.
Ella Robinson will be going to the University of Surrey to study midwifery.
She achieved her predicted grades with a double distinction star for health and social care and Bs for sociology and PE.
Ella, who lives in Bushey, said: “I’m really happy. It was relieving when I opened my results.”
Andrew Godfrey, from Bushey, was “glad” he met his predicted grades of Bs in sociology, media and politics. He has a place to study media and creative industries at Warwick University but said he might defer and go travelling.
Brandon Dalton, from Bushey, will be doing an apprenticeship degree in project management with engineering company WSP.
He said: “I will work part time, be paid and they will pay for my degree.”
Brandon received his predicted grades of As in business and PE and a C in biology.
Rebecca Dixon, from Watford, also met he
r predicted grades of As in biology, chemistry and psychology after “panicking” over the summer. She will be heading to the University of Bath to study biochemistry in September.
